What is an anticone?

In a block DAG, the past of a block is every block that it builds on, directly or through other blocks. Its future is every block that builds on it. The anticone of a block is the set of blocks that are in neither: the blocks made in parallel with it.

GHOSTDAG, the protocol that orders the blocks of Kaspa, relies on honest blocks having small anticones.

The anticone of block B A block DAG with time going up. Block B is in the centre. Three blocks below it are its past and three blocks above it are its future. Two blocks at the same height as B, one on each side, are not connected to B in either direction: they are its anticone. B FUTURE PAST ANTICONE ANTICONE
Time goes up. Each line joins a block to a block that it builds on.
